Learning to live with epilepsy depends on many factors. One of the best ways to help a child adjust to the world of epilepsy is to understand the neurological disorder. This same approach is equally effective for all family members and school staff.

Visit All terrain brings together five services for teachers, children and parents affected by epilepsy in the Haute-Yamaska, Brome-Missisquoi and Montérégie regions. Our aim is always to be an ally in the school environment and to offer our expertise in epilepsy. The aim is to share our tools in order to ensure the well-being of the child living with the condition and reassure peers, parents and school staff.

The 5 services of Tout Terrain

School accompaniment

Create harmonious links with families and the school environment, provide support for parents and accompany children, teenagers and adults in their school careers.

This service is provided by Sylvain, a liaison officer whose expertise comes from the education field as a pedagogue and school principal. He will liaise with school nurses, CSSSs and school principals.

Awareness-raising workshops in schools

Épilepsie Montérégie has come up with a fun and striking approach to raising awareness of epilepsy.

Host Èva travels with her accomplice Lou, a puppet and important ally. This character lives with epilepsy and shares information through her perspective.

The impact is different when the information is transmitted by Lou. The puppet encourages openness, the sharing of emotions and brings a touch of magic! Lou is a powerful tool for children and adults alike!

Information about school kits

We have written and conceptualized five kits: Daycare - Primary - Secondary - College and University - Day Camps. These comprehensive guides cover a range of essential topics in the world of epilepsy.

Family support

This component is offered by Anie, a psychosocial counsellor who works with families affected by epilepsy. She offers support to parents and siblings, and works with the family to untangle possible emotions. She then presents effective and helpful tools for coping with this neurological disorder.

Family matching service

For many years, the organization has wanted to set up a twinning service between families affected by epilepsy. Because the Montérégie region is so vast, sharing groups don't work as well and are a challenge to organize. However, the need for sharing remains. This service, better adapted to each individual's reality, matches parents with similar situations who wish to share their experiences, exchange tips and vent!

Our mission with this program is to facilitate, and this, as quickly as possible in the life of a child living with epilepsy.
